NICKELBACK To Issue 'The Long Road' In September
July 16, 2003NICKELBACK have set "The Long Road" as the title for their third full-length album, due on September 23 through Roadrunner Records.
"The Long Road" was recorded in Vancouver, British Columbia, and was produced by frontman Chad Kroeger. It was recorded using a vintage mixing board from Little Mountain Sound that veteran producer Bob Rock used in the '80s to record artists like MÖTLEY CRÜE and SKID ROW.
Among the tracks set to appear on the album is a "ripping" version of Elton John's "Saturday Night's Alright (For Fighting)", which includes guest appearances from Kid Rock and PANTERA guitarist Dimebag Darrell. The song can also be heard on the soundtrack to "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle".
The first single from the new album will be a track called "Someday", described by MTV.com as "an anthemic rocker that's equal parts guitar muscle and commercial sheen." A video for the song, which goes to radio in early August, was shot last weekend with director Nigel Dick.
